I'm not sure if you can do this with PHP as I am new to the language,
but if you can open a pipe to openssl then you should be able to pull
this off by having openssl handle the SSL layer of the connection. This
should allow you to do posts and gets if you formulate your request
properly.
Haven't tested in PHP, but I've seen perl scripts that do this. There
should be some docs on OpenSSLs website about doing this.

Yikes - I'm stumped ...
I know fopen() is only HTTP 1.0 (maybe 1.1 now ...) but definately not
SSL.
One thing to look at is a little app call w3m which is like lynx only
renders
tables, frames, etc. - they have an SSL version of that called "w3m-ssl"
you
could then do "w3m-ssl-en -dump
https://secure.server.com/foo.dll?var=joe"
in PHP and it will return the results into the variable:
soooo :
$return =
w3m-ssl-en -dump https://secure.server.com/foo.dll?var=joe`;
would have the results of that DLL in it :O) - I guess I wasn't stumped
after
all...
