Ok well first I just want to mention that I have not read all the posts and
someone might have already mentioned this but ill try anyway. Why not
provide the client with a working copy of the script, except the copy is on
your server? The only problem that could arise with this (that I see) is
that the client might want to take a look at the source to see how the
program is written. If the client needs to do this then you could always
provide them with a small non-working sample. Personally, if a client wanted
to see their script working I would gladly set it up on my server for them.
This way if worst comes to worst, they cannot steal your source and you can
still go to court if you have a contract.
