Well, I think of it no different that then PEAR object. It's an abstract
class that provides some basic needs to children classes.

It's a problem? How so?

Well I guess it is all about perception in my mind. I don't think of PEAR
as a framework nor will I ever. In the spirit of PEAR meaning "PHP
Extension and Application Repository" I would see framework stuff falling
under the 'Extension' part of the definition. I see value in people being
able to do 'pear install PEAR_mvc' and doing something quick like:
class adminController extends PEAR_mvc_controller {
}
and
class saveUser extends PEAR_mvc_action {
}
Those base objects could provide a lot of value and raise the bar in PHP
coding quality. To that end, I think PEAR should lead that charge.
