That's one of the major problems in PHP development today: People
programming PHP don't take care of design patterns, common programming
principles etc., which often results into horrible code, security holes
and a lot of work for the people, which have to refactor the "spaghetti
code" afterwards.
So please have a look at all the links to pattern resources that have
been posted in this thread and rethink your opionion about using those
patterns even in web development. It will make you a better programmer,
believe me.
