The problem with Mac OSX and PEAR was, that OSX has a case-insensitive file system by default (as windows does) and this caused problems with the Installer and went unnoticed since noone tried it on OSX. There are not many developers with an OSX machine and Apple ships a rather old PHP (4.1 IIRC), which most certainly doesn't work with the latest PEAR gadgets. > The fact that Solaris is considered as a widely used platform is even more > laughable. I would predict, that there are more Solaris-Server out there than OSX-Servers ;) I agree with you, that OSX shouldn't be unsupported. There are quite a few PHP developers with an OSX installation, but if they don't provide feedback, OSX Support won't get anywhere... (native extension are btw another issue... Most extensions can be compiled out of the box now, but some things are different on OSX than on *BSD or Linux and someone has to test that...) chregu
