I would concur, backwards compatibility on that item would be great, and I'm sure that when the phpDocDude, Greg sees this thread he'll definitly take that into consideration. He is rather busy at this point though, and thus I am not sure when to expect that such an implementation would occur. The begining initiative by Zend would probably be greatly appreciated on his part, and further more, give him the time to develop that implementation in PhpDocumentor.
Maybe if Greg gets some time yet this evening he could elaborate on the ZDS docblock comments, because he would know better then anyone else on this list (except Josh).
I think seeing the two products, PhpDocumentor, and ZDS become more friendly in compatibility to would be a great step and tool for PHP developers.

That I know of Zend also doesn't do docblocks for includes, constants, and page level? That may be part of what is being referenced, I don't know. Not that any of these things are dificult.Right. At this point it only supports functions and methods.Maybe an idea is that Zend Studio should support both @desc or the single line description method currently used by PHPDoc?I'll bump it higher on the priority list given the interest from PEAR... I'll see if it can be added in 3.0.1. I still think it's a good idea to have provisions for one-line comments in the standard itself, though. Zeev
