To be honest I am not familiar with PHPEdit much. I have an educational copy of ZDS that I use when working on projects for school, at all others time I just use ConTEXT so I've never had to pull it out. I will look at the code tonight, though, and let you know about it. I have never used a code beautifier (kind of against the whole philosophy behind them really) but will check that out also. I think good solid phpdocblock comment support in all our prime php ide's is essential and would be great to have. This means though, methods, classes, constants, includes, page level, etc. and possibly somewhere down the line... the ability to do tutorial level documentation in these ide's also. For now, though, I think getting the different types of docblocks supported along with all the current tags would be great... this means allowing for tags like @see and especially @uses (Probably the best!), custom tags, still others... @access, @static, etc. I'd suggest referencing the PhpDoc manual for this, because essentially those are all the tags that need to be covered. - Stan Katana wrote:
I amy be wrong, but I do not believe that, that is the entire compatbility issue. That I know of Zend also doesn't do docblocks for includes, constants, and page level? That may be part of what is being referenced, I don't know. Not that any of these things are dificult.
For your information, PHPEdit also supports documentation at PEAR format, and the integrated PHP Code Beautifier also support PEAR Formatted function / method comments. What do you think should be added ? Include, page level... ? Could you provide a description of what should be featured for each item to be documented ? Katana
