AG it still would be quite big, so yhecking only the format should be ok.

Therefore you could get the offical Banccode Database from the Deutsche

imho a bit inconsequent: When checking a phnoe number I must not include the
area code (0[0-9]{2,5} - not sure wether 5 is the upper limit), but when
checking a 0700 number I need to add the areacode (0700).
