Well, I felt a bit upset, because I got the impression, that you
wanted to say, that PEAR::Auth doesn't support PEAR::DB. But
I think I misread your posting - sorry for that.

I chose the same approach than the one that is used for the
storage containers of the PEAR cache: There are simple classes,
which PEAR::Auth talks to. This classes connect to a database,
open a file, connect to LDAP or communicate with the PEAR::DB
interface.

Right now I don't have the time to step deep into your code. But I'll
look at it later this week (probably thursday or at least on friday).
But basically I must say that your auto-auth concept sounds
pretty interesting.
