I see, but many people like me, have stop to use templates for make
directly a valid XHTML page with CSS.
For all my projects (and also in my company), we doesn't use templates
now, we uses only valid XHTML/CSS way.
IMHO, the best way is to make bloc div and make the visuel position with
CSS. All templates can be replaced by valid XHTML/CSS and respect the
W3C standards (ex: not use table for positioning elements in the page)

I will make a HTML_Functions which extends the XML_Functions with
control of tags/attributes. And after i will propose them on Pepr.
Some people seem to be interested by this way (cf. the post of Alan
Knowles "Re: [PEAR-DEV] Prefix function name problem")
