Voting cannot be ENTIRELY anonymous, then we'd have no way to track who was voting, i.e. I could vote 42 times for myself. The voting process was discussed on the ML, anybody was free to comment. They didn't. The PEPr was available before it went to proposed stage for people to comment on the process. They didn't. In cases like this, silence is taken as approval. I think what you need to admit to here, is that only you have a problem with this, so just deal. :) - Davey Daniel Convissor wrote:

No, and no. Just vote for your top (upto) 7
I'm sorry to be a pain in the ass here, but... I sincerely appreciate Davey taking the lead and getting the ball rolling for a QA Team vote. At the same time, we are about to cast votes in a system that was established by one person. (I'm talking about the vote your top 7 w/o -1 votes, not about PEPr.) I know the following is a bit absurd, but I really think we need to vote (or at least reach some sort of agreement) on a voting system. The "How the initial members are chosen" section of the "Proposal for How the QA Team will work" does not outline how the voting should take place. http://pear.php.net/pepr/pepr-proposal-show.php?id=60 The discussions we've had so far about QA Team voting have been about whether to do it in PEPr, on the dev list or a whole new web system. There's been no real discussion about the voting itself. I have strong objections to the voting system proposed. I think -1 votes for a particular candidate need to be counted. I'd also like the system to be anonymous, but I'm not going to make a big deal about it. Thanks, --Dan
