Exceptions may be easy to use for pear-dev people, but your average PHP user will hav problems with the new language features of PHP5 and I'm not sure that everybody will understand how try/catch works.then they will have to make a genuine effort to understand how PHP 5 works if they intend to use PHP 5 packages. I think that everyone with some good will can learn how to use benefit from the new object model. That said, point taken. I am not against using the Error_Stack for warnings and notices but in my specific case the usage is relatively simple: if something goes wrong we have a nice error from the PEAR_Exception with all the relevant information...
