I am not against the *idea* of "friendly reminder" (a nice euphemism), but the implementation of them leaves much to be desired. 1) I received 4 "friendly reminders", 1 per package. I sent 1 reminder per package in fact I picked the first bug for each package. If that is not the case I apologize but I am pretty sure I did posted 1 comment per "buggy" package.t you are taking it the wrong way. Comments in bug system are designed to give additional info to developers and to help them, not to piss them off.If you are pissed off by a friendly reminder..what about closing them or updated their status ? oh right you are too busy posting your rants on the list.
2) I received a "friendly reminder" for a new bug, opened only A DAY AGO! WTF? If it was the only bug in that package that is the case. Sorry but I couldn't check the dates and then judge one by one...
3) The "friendly reminders" look like the legitimate bug comments. This is something I can't influence
4) The "friendly reminders" pollute the bug system.Something out of my turf
I suggest sending 1 reminder per *developer*, with the stats for all the packages he maintains. Feel free to code a different system, don't assume that I have a personal pleasure on doing this manually...
And please phrase it neutrally, like "here are the bug stats for your packages, blah-blah". And do not use bug system for this. If you can do a better job, feel free.
Also consider the following. Maybe I was already going to address these bugs. But now I'll hesitate to do this: you may think that I did this because of your successful spam run.Really? wow so you where going to fix the bugs but the remind let you think that is better to leave them alone ? great philosophy! Well as far as I am concerned you can proceed as you deem appropriate. I did my part with the remind, I can't fix these for you sorry... Cheers David Costa
