magic_quotes_runtime, yes magic_quotes_gpc, no (well, technically, probably yes, but it's too late -- GPC has already been parsed) IMO, PEAR (the repository, not the installer) should make no assumptions about magic_quotes_gpc, and: $var = get_magic_quotes_gpc() ? stripslashes($var) : $var; appropriately.. at least any NEW development. S
