Hi, David Jean Louis wrote:
Zend Framework has some good ideas and even the implementation in PEAR2 SVN has stuff to borrow.
Right. I am unsure if we need many adapters... imho raw sockets and cURL would be a good start (pecl php, streams and whatever can wait...).
Agree here. But we *will* need at least 2 adapters to properly design abstraction, of course. :]
I willing to put time on it.
Still willing after reading the stuff above?
Yes we are. :D
Sure, and I even decided to start something this weekend. Hopefully, I'll setup a googlecode project very soon (tomorrow maybe) so we can all hack on it.
Is this needed? As I'm a lead developer of HTTP_Request, I can register HTTP_Request2 on PEAR website. And also move current feature requests to it, hehe. First priority IMO is HTTP_Request2_URI class which will conform to RFC 2396 and use "official" regexps and algorithms from there. Original author of Net_URL(2) and HTTP_Request, unfortunately, isn't a very keen RFC reader. Then porting current HTTP_Request and adding cURL support.
