You may not care, but the community and PEAR does. There's nothing wrong with Net_URL2 that I'm aware of. We should collaborate rather than blaze our own trail.
I'm terribly sorry, disregard everything I said here about Net_URL2. I missed the fact that current version (0.2.0) is a complete rewrite and was speaking out of my experience with the previous version. Current Net_URL2 is perfectly fine. Thus no need to waste time duplicating functionality, we can spend it actually writing HTTP_Request2.
