I think there is a way. You show the html, then do a meta refresh to the
actual php script which dumps the file to the client.
A few headers I send out for files (in my case it ws PDFs generated):
header("Cache-Control: no-store");
header("Cache-Control: no-cache");
header("Cache-Control: must-revalidate");
header("Content-type: application/pdf");
header("Content-Length: $len");
header("Content-Disposition: inline; filename=file.pdf");
IE is a bit weird with its headers. Can be a right pain In the....
