Thanks for the meta tag idea! I wish I'd thought of that first. I went ahead and tried the frames approach and it worked like a charm, though. Probably a bit more labor than a meta refresh, but hey, if it works... go with it. There is another small problem I am having. When I attempt to download a document with a # sign in the document name the system stops reading the document name at the pound sign. I tried urlencoding and rawurlencoding the filename, but this didn't seem to fix the problem. Just for good measure, I even tried urldecoding (in case I was being dyslexic about things). Have you ever encountered this problem? A few headers I send out for files (in my case it ws PDFs generated): header("Cache-Control: no-store"); header("Cache-Control: no-cache"); header("Cache-Control: must-revalidate"); header("Content-type: application/pdf"); header("Content-Length: $len"); header("Content-Disposition: inline; filename=file.pdf"); IE is a bit weird with its headers.
