If you take the time to trawl through the archives, I think you'll find I've ASKED very few questions. Probably only one, if memory serves correct, and since my question concerned the possibility of my writing (in C++) a web server with PHP support to run on Windows CE, I didn't expect to find the answer in the archives. However, I have ANSWERED many questions, so I think perhaps your comment is perhaps a little unjust. I may not have been on this list long, but I'm hardly a newbie so far as programming is concerned. I've been doing it for about three decades. I only asked because I'm starting to think "Well, I _could_ answer that question, but I already answered it a few weeks ago so why should I bother?". I did NOT ask about a FAQ because I felt I needed to read one. I asked because I thought it might reduce the traffic on this list, that's all. The FAQ actually exists, in the mailing list section. It reduces to one question: Q: What would Jill do? A: Read the archives before posting I think it works like this: - newbie posts for the first time (register_globals = off, business proposal from Nigeria, etc.) - newbie receives dry comment from someone - newbie understands and does not do the same mistake again Personnally, I do not think there is much to complain about. This ML is top quality.
