Hello,
I definitively agree with Christain vision.
One important role of the PFC core group (by the way, are these PFC
modules not what we actually call CORE ?) is to be in closed relation
with the php group itself, managing the PEAR integration before each
PHP release. This is, imho, one of the most important point. The recent
releases proove that does work as that should work.
A QA team should create QA structrure, not run the QA process for the
PEAR developers. It's up to the packages maintainers to do it, as
Christian said.
About PFC itself, I am still not sure this is a good idea to split PEAR
in 2 parts, to do not say against the split. But this is a good idea to
label a package for his quality, standart conformance, successfully ran
tests on each required platform. This should be an usefull addin,
besides the package status(beta, stable, alpha,...).
