Package Proposal: DICOM_File

I want to propose a package for reading and modifying DICOM files. DICOM files are used for imaging in medicine (they can contain audio/image/video), but this package mostly deals with the metadata fields in such a file. DICOM stands for Digital Imaging and COmmunications in Medicine, but as the package name suggests it will not deal with any communications/network related stuff. You can find more information on DICOM at: http://medical.nema.org/ proposed category: medicine (a bit too specific, but I learned my lesson :) proposed status: alpha package, source code, sample script and API docs at: http://www.dcc.uchile.cl/~xnoguer/DICOM/ Future plans: - more testing - change getValue() so that it accepts a more human-understandable argument - test some more - add documentation (Have to figure a non-stupid way of documenting the ~1700 file fields). - more testing.
