I like DICOM_File more, it would make for a cleaner file structure if someone
is crazy enough to implement the DICOM protocol (DIMSE) some day.

If you mean a way to "import" pnm files into a dicom file, I have some
"ethical" issues with that. It wouldn't be to difficult to extend the current
class to allow to write DICOM files from scratch, but I don't feel
comfortable with the idea of creating something, which could end in someone's
medical record, out of thin air.
