Beta means Beta means don't use it for anything you need to rely on.
It may take 5 minutes to fix, but it was obviously 5 minutes that pierre did
not have.
May I remind you that *there is no warranty* on anything related to PHP,
that pierre is not employed to work on this stuff, and that he has
*absolutely no obligation* to do anything about it, *even if it was a stable
release*.
Now, I'm sure he does care about the package, but it is *beta* after all.
Perhaps if this situation arises again, a helpful pear admin could fix and
make an interim release on such a broken package, with the package
developers consent.
Lets move on with our lives now...
