this kind of tool, which generates php-doc blocks, might be extended a bit and also do the checking if all methods in fact _are_ sufficiently documented. So that it does checks like:
- are all parameters documented
- are the return values documented
- does a short (and a full description) exist
and this might throw out the according messages, or even generates the missing tags and does only tell you that you have to fill this in.
I think phpDocumentor has already all that functionality, Greg?
A tool like this would also be great for automatically determining the PEAR "batches" we discussed a while ago. (of course it can only check _that_ the minumum is given, it cant tell how useful it is)

I have seen somewhere a php tool that will reformat your code in order to make it more compliant with PEAR Coding Standards. Another feature could be to reformat your PHPDoc comments or add them automatically if they are missing, adding placeholders to be filled at the same time. But it would have to leave the code untouched. AFAIR, Zend Studio has its own comment style, not compatible with PHPDoc (but that was a few months ago, so maybe they've changed that). A tool like this would really be great ! (At least for me, I really have a problem with docbook). Can phpDocumentor do that?
