As of your package, it could be a complement to the existing DB package, I don't see a need for a new package (but I haven't checked your code yet, so I might be wrong).I too see it as a complement to DB, in the same way DB_DataObject is a complementary package. As far as putting the code into the existing DB class, I don't quite see how to do it. DB itself is a factory for DB_mysql (and all the rest). Perhaps add the pieces into DB_Common, and rewrite all the DB_whatever classes that extend common? However, I don't think that's the way to go. Including the DB_Simple validation and automation routines seems like a violation of the (reasonable and wise) borders of DB. DB_Simple (or whatever name is decided) is a quick and easy way to start with automation through DB, with convenience methods and validation and all the rest. DB is a foundation, DB_Simple is a cottage built on that foundation, DB_DataObject is a house, and MDB is a mansion. (Oh, wait, you're a Mansion too, sorry about that. ;-) _______________________________________________________________________ Paul M.
