I really do look forward to a simpler MDB, and I'd not hesitate to deprecate DB_Simple in favor of it (given that I can extend it to do DB_Simple kinds of things quickly and easily -- c.f. the File_IMC discussion with reference to Contact_Vcard a few weeks ago). The big deal is going to be writing up full documentation on the new and improved MDB so that any dummy (like me) can get to working with it quickly.

Go ahead and checkout MDB 2.x in CVS HEAD.

Will do. Can you qualify the state of the code (i.e., you like it, you don't like specific parts, you think it is/is-not ready for prime time, etc.)?
