Quoting Daniel Convissor <danielc@analysisandsolutions.com>:
Seems bumping it up a major version is the safest thing to do. Though that causes people who just do "pear upgrade-all" to miss a bug fix. Perhaps do both. Make a bugfix release that keeps the PEAR.php include and make a new major version w/o it.I'm sorry, I'm not sure I follow. What would the minor-version bugfix release be fixing? Just the extension of PEAR.php, as opposed to the reliance by other classes on Socket.php including PEAR.php for them? It's still a potential BC break if they were using $socket->isError() or some such. -chuck -- "Regard my poor demoralized mule!" - Juan Valdez
