LOB support in PEAR DB

Hi all, I would like to know what your ideas are on how to implement lob support into PEAR DB. I need this feature for Oracle and, according to discussions about Metabase, it looks like it is the right time to start this project. I was wondering if this stuff could go into prepare/execute methods or should be handled by specific methods as it is suggested in http://www.compsci.buu.ac.th/docs/phplib/blob.html by Sascha Schumann. Apparently, Metabase has its own classes to handle lobs. Please post your ideas. Thanks. Bertrand Mansion Mamasam
