try pear config-set verbose 100000000 - well a bit more than 1 anyway :) I'm guessing that it will have trouble with all packages that need 'root directory' installation - like DB ? have a look at PEAR/Installer.php - it shouldnt be to difficult to fix.. http://docs.akbkhome.com/pear/classes/PEAR_Installer.html regards alan Urs Gehrig wrote:

C:\php>pear install XML_Tree install ok: XML_Tree 1.1 C:\php>pear install http://pear.php.net/get/PEAR raising error! failed to create c:\php\/\pear ... the installation failed on PEAR while others (XML_Tree etc.) worked fine. any ideas? -urs
