If "pear list" doesn't show PEAR, the files have been installed but the package not registered. Do "pear install --force PEAR" to fix it. The "install" command also has a -r / --register-only option (as "pear help install" would tell you), but unless you're sure that the files you have installed are those of the latest installer, --force is safer. - Stig On Wed, 2002-05-29 at 09:28, Urs Gehrig wrote: > good morning! > > i am still fascinated by the pear installer thing ;) i just tried to go for > the gui installer and was heading for upgrading PEAR. so i did... > > C:\php>pear upgrade PEAR > > PEAR not installed > > C:\php>pear config-show > > CONFIGURATION: > ============== > bin_dir c:\php > data_dir c:\php\pear\data > doc_dir c:\php\pear\docs > ext_dir c:\php > http_proxy <not set> > master_server pear.php.net > password <not set> > php_dir c:\php\pear > preferred_state stable > test_dir c:\php\pear\tests > umask 000 > username <not set> > verbose 1 > > C:\php>pear install XML_Tree > install ok: XML_Tree 1.1 > > C:\php>pear install http://pear.php.net/get/PEAR > raising error! > failed to create c:\php\/\pear > > ... the installation failed on PEAR while others (XML_Tree etc.) worked > fine. > > any ideas? > > -urs > > > > -- > PEAR Development Mailing List (http://pear.php.net/) > To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
