I am trying to run pear_frontend_gtk, I have recently checked out from cvs and i did pear upgrade pear_frontend_gtk (as i had 0.1 installed already). This downloaded gtk 2.0 - I then tried pear -G (& -g), does this depend on the version of php i have (4.2.1)?I'm assuming this is unix? - you only need gtk1.2 as we havent moved to gtk2.0 (awaiting zend2 engine stabalizing), in the php-gtk source (gtk.php.net), you sould set a directoy called tests if you can run scribble.php in there then your php-gtk installation should be working.
I then tried to start it manually by cd'ing to the directory and doing php -q gtk.phpthe only way to run the installer in gtk mode is pear -G or ln -s /usr/sbin/pear /usr/sbin/gpear gpear the files are just classes that are called by the pear Command API
I got this error message unknown class pear_frontend_cli (in PEAR/Command.php : 134) - but i have debugging enabled and it says that it loads/unloads the class correctly (for other things eg pear install). I have tried pear install pear_frontend_cli, pear upgrade ... and lots of different options, but it doesnt seem to work properlyI suspect that if you havent got php_gtk.so working/installed this may happen - will have a look a bit later today
pear list doesnt show pear_frontend_cli or pear_frontendIf you do pear config-set prefered_state snapshot it should now list all the packages. (pear_frontend_cli is actually part of the PEAR package.) thanks for testing regards alan
