Apart from error handling, PEAR.php provides "emulated" destructors
for PHP scripts. As a conclusion of that, one can see the PEAR class
as the base class for other code, since it provides basic features such
as destructors, error handling and so on.
But actually it's just a matter of word definition ;-).
