Those are there for a specific reason, that's the common method of
marking a foldable section for vim. So when I open up PEAR.php in my
copy of vim 6.x I see:
class PEAR
{
+-- 53 lines:
properties--------------------------------------------------------
+-- 34 lines:
constructor-------------------------------------------------------
+-- 43 lines:
...
pushErrorHandling()-----------------------------------------------
+-- 23 lines:
popErrorHandling()------------------------------------------------
}
Pretty helpful if you are trying to get an overview of the class
without implementation details
