This is very old news. Lukas pearified enough of Metabase to make the
proof of concept.

Tomas, save us from your hiprocrisy, either stop stalling Lukas or just
admit publically that in fact you do not want Metabase to merge in PEAR
because you would have to drop your beloved code that you contributed to
the current PEAR-DB implementation. Drop the bone!
How many faces do you have? I can see two from here: one that says
publically that you want to help in the merger of Metabase in PEAR-DB
and another that tries desperately to perpetuate the current PEAR-DB
implementation.
If you would really wanted Metabase code to merge with PEAR-DB you would
be helping Lukas to optimize the parts of Metabase that you use to
object regarding performance complaints instead of investing on
optimizing the current PEAR-DB implementation.
