Apology for the late response. Do you mean it's it difficult to run pear
altogether in this environment (safe mode on) or do you mean it is just
difficult to run the installer? This host does have pear installed. I
just wanted to install a newer version with some extra packages.
Following your advise I have created a similar directory structure in
Mac OS X, installed pear in it and uploaded the resulting files and
directories. I have not tested this yet, should I expect any problems
with it?
