OK, I removed the old installation and started again with the following
command from the manual:
pear -s -c ~/DOMAIN/.pearrc \
-d doc_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/docs \
-d ext_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/ext \
-d php_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/lib \
-d data_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/data \
-d test_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/tests \
-d cache_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/cache \
-d bin_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/bin
Which gave the following result:
Warning: set_time_limit(): Cannot set time limit in safe mode in
/usr/local/lib/php/pearcmd.php on line 31
PEAR_Config::writeConfigFile
fopen('/opt/usr/username/DOMAIN/.pearrc','w') failed
Next I tried by creating a world writable directory ~/DOMAIN/pear
and do:
pear -s -c ~/DOMAIN/pear/.pearrc \
-d doc_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/PEAR/docs \
-d ext_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/PEAR/ext \
-d php_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/PEAR/lib \
-d data_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/PEAR/data \
-d test_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/PEAR/tests \
-d cache_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/PEAR/cache \
-d bin_dir=~/DOMAIN/pear/PEAR/bin
With the same result:
Warning: set_time_limit(): Cannot set time limit in safe mode in
/usr/local/lib/php/pearcmd.php on line 31
PEAR_Config::writeConfigFile
fopen('/opt/usr/username/DOMAIN/pear/.pearrc','w') failed
I tried creating a file ~/DOMAIN/pear/.pearrc before running the command
but this didn't work either..
Hope there is a way around this and you or anybody can point the way
around it..
Steven
