Yes, I develop my stuff locally on a Mac OS X box. I need pear on the
remote host to show off my stuff to potential clients. And also to test
if my apps work in a typical more limited shared host environment. And
yes, I expect it to work smashingly :-D..

I do have shell access to the remote host, so I am interested to see how
I can use that to set up and or manage pear. TIA,
