hi Sven, We got a reply to the ss vs German one. See http://bugs.icu-project.org/trac/ticket/8938 and in the ICU support archive: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=28409118 A possible solution is described there ("I recommend you call the new UTS #46 API with the transitional-mappings option."), that's something we have to investigate for 5.4 final and maybe 5.3.
