At 16:01 15-6-2002, Markus Fischer shared with all of us:
sendmail_from currently doesn't check the format and surrounds it
with <>. Since it's also incorrectly documented, as the 'From:' header,
instead of the MAIL FROM command, this can lead to confusion.
Please file a documentation report about. rfc822 parsing is a
big feature request (not a bug imho).
Looking at the cvs history, this feature has changed over the various releases,
but what is the specification here? If you follow the current documentation,
then any address format suitable in a 'From:' message header should be supported
and the emailaddress should be isolated from it, to use as 'MAIL FROM' command.
Wouldn't it make it easier for everyone to use:
smtp_mailfrom
sendmail_from
I'm rather interested in BC conflicts. Thing which used toI'll do some additional testing on that sendmail_from directive then, cause it's likely to have some issues. Met vriendelijke groeten / With kind regards, IDG.nl Melvyn Sopacua Webmasterwork with 4.2.1 or 4.1.2 which do not work anymore.
