At 00:13 5-6-2002, Liz shared with all of us:
Made worse when you find your problem is because you tested it on windows Nt/Xp/2000 work station.. and the 'server' version suddenly decides to be slightly different (eg stupid stupid stupid index server grrrrrrr.. as I found also with PHP that somehow its different,Don't be fooled by the assumption, that for each and every extension Redhat produces the same results as BSD's, which in my twisted vision, is the equivalent of Win32/Prof vs. Win32/Advanced Server ;-) Still - it's beside the point.
Yup, windows is the least predictable and also doesn't handle connections as well, nor many other things as well, I share the opinion its not the best for a web production server, but for some reason, apparently according to the nice people who pay me money, nothing other than VB/ASP is marketable these days.....You can run VB/ASp on *nix - that's not a windows issue.
as I tried to point out.. and at what point does someone with a pension even have a CLUE what the system was which was used?Nope - but corporations remain corporations. Stuff comes in through contacts, backdoors and commercials - seldom through expertise of a qualified person. Met vriendelijke groeten / With kind regards, IDG.nl Melvyn Sopacua Webmaster
