Hi,
First off, nice then finally there's some feedback on this
list, I and others really appriciate this.
Second: though one of my last mail sounded maybe a bit harsh
and arrogant ("again, I do not plan to revert.."), I'm
definitely not on the track "let's get it incompatible by all
mean". Sascha has a vaild point. Luckily we have still quite
some time until 4.3 is released so I'm sure we can sort
things out properly.
If someone wants to send feedback to me, I would appriciate
if I get:
1) The >small< script reproducing your problem, e.g.:
<?
ini_set("SMTP", "whatever");
ini_set("sendmail_from", "foo@bar.com");
mail(
"recipi@en.t",
"subject",
"body",
"all\r\nyour\n\rextra\r\nheaders"
);
?>
2) attachment of the *exact mail* of a previous version of
php (all headers, all body, etc.). If you only test 4.1.x,
please also test 4.2.1 in combination.
3) same as 2) but with the current win32/unstable snapshot
please also change the subject which tells what's in this
mail.
4) also the exact error message output of you get any from
the mail() command. So be sure to actually turn
error_reporting to E_ALL.
To Sascha: sorry I don't have time to search the reports for
you. Just search for mail related bugs I've closed, or
alternatively take a look at the win32/sendmail.c file, thx.
again, thanks for your feedback,
- Markus
