Nor am I an Installshield (or indeed Windows) guru!
My initial plan was to do an installer that allowed sundry extension modules
to be picked from a list, ask a few questions such as 'smtp server address'
in order to brew up an appropriate php.ini file, copy the php.exe and
appropriate dlls to the specified directory, then fiddle the registry to get
the script mapping set for IIS or PWS, and finally stop and start the
appropriate services (or wimp out and insist on a reset!).
As has been pointed out, a manual Windows install is easy, but we still get
loads of help requests from users who have bogged it up.
I reckon (at least for a first pass) that any users who have chosen Apache
have already proved that they have enough brain cells to install things
themselves. Having said that, we still get loads of messages from people who
have not done all the requisite changes to httpd.conf.
Cheers
