I've spent a couple of hours now with the demo version of the Wise InstallBuilder. At last an installer which seems to have been designed by someone with a brain! I'm currently playing with its ability to edit the php.ini file in response to user input from 'wizard' style dialog boxes. Clearly, we don't want to bombard the user with every single setting, so we need to choose which are the important ones. Here's my list - if it's not in the list, it gets left with the default settings in php.ini-dist. item default value upload_tmp_dir windows temp directory Dynamic extensions checkboxes against a list of the available extension dlls all unchecked SMTP no value sendmail_from me@localhost.com If I've missed anything important, please let me know.
