First, it's NOT PHP that I'm having trouble with, it's the MySQL
authentication module. I didn't want to post to the list because
the list is not for discussion of that particular piece of software.
Thus, my apology for posting offtopic.
Second, I acknowledge that no one has a *right* to a reply,
but if you put a piece of software out for people to use, it
generally is considered courteous to answer e-mail asking
questions about it. With projects that I help to develop,
I do extend that courtesy. Had I e-mailed Zeev and had
he said "sorry, I don't provide support for that module,"
that would be fine. He hasn't replied at all.
Third, I respect and appreciate the work that the team
has done on PHP. If anything, I owe *them* -- the use
of PHP has made my work an order of magnitude
easier. At some point in the near future I would like to
contribute some modules to the PHP development
effort, since I am a C/C++ developer and I have some
ideas for stuff I think others might find useful. I'm
sorry if people read this message and thought I
came across as having an attitude. I don't; I'm just
frustrated and posted to the list as a last resort
since I was getting no reply via e-mail.
