The sheer volume of email that developers receive combined with relatively uninteresting subject lines dealing with software you no long support lead to a quick tap of the 'd' key before the message is even opened. You get what you pay for. If you really want help, then you might have to pay for it. Heck if it's for a "big client" make them pay for it. If I no longer have time to support the software, I'd remove it from the public distribution places to the best of my ability.Unless 98% of the people who download it still get to use it without a problem (that's not an ad-hoc number, that's the number of people who appear to be running AuthMySQL, vs. the number of people who mail me with problems). Even though I currently don't have time to support it, AuthMySQL is stable, debugged, and generally requires no maintenance (and it's used in about 15,000 on the net, according to E-soft, or about 100,000 sites if you try to estimate the netcraft-equivalent numbers), other than getting the configure script up to speed. Hardly something you need to deny people from using the program for. I'm happy to say that Rasmus said he would take a look into the configuration issue when he gets some free time.
