PHP Licensed GeoIP PECL module proposal

Hello, I have been in contact with Maxmind regarding their GeoIP Library. Since it is GPL'ed, it cannot be included on PECL. They have agreed to allow PHP (and everything developed with PHP License v3 or higher) a special license exception: From their LICENSE file: === Optional GPL License Exception for PHP. As a special exception, MaxMind LLC gives permission to distribute derivative works that are formed with GPL-licensed GeoIP software and with software licensed under version 3.0 of the PHP license. You must obey the GNU General Public License in all respects for all of the code used other than code licensed under version 3.0 of the PHP license. === If this is not enough to allow the inclusion of their PHP module on PECL, they would be happy to modify the exception. If this is indeed correct, I would like to propose this new extension under the naming "geoip" in Networking category or something. Thank you for any feedback. Sincerely, Olivier
