What other disagreements are there on this besides the "no more hacks" arguments?
IMHO there are really no "hacks", just support for various tag styles. Since php is an
embedded language,
supporting these should be part of the design goals. The 4 character typing argument is a style
issue, and
we should leave that up to the individual php developers to decide. I vote yes unless someone can
provide a strong technical reason as to why adding a consistent = to every supported tag is a bad
idea.
