It makes sense for <?php= to exist if <?= does and removing the latter
doesn't seem possible.
<body bgcolor="<?php= $color ?>">
<h1><?php= $bar ?></h1>
<p><?php= $foo ?></p>
</body>
<body bgcolor="<?php echo $color">
<h1><?php echo $bar ?></h1>
<p><?php echo $foo ?></p>
</body>
not bad.

Philip
