Utilities?

Allright, I am admitedly a newbie, and I make stupid mistakes because im having a hard time writing the code as it is. (stupid mistakes like leaving off semicolons or not escaping out quotes) so my question is: is there some editor for windows that would catch such stupid mistakes? I'd rather find them on my machine instead of uploading them, getting an error, fixing it, uploading again to find another error, etc. Thanks Ed
