Actually there were *2* gtk runtimes in my path: I also have the Gimp
installed, which uses gtk 2.4...
Just to make sure, I temporarily removed both from my %PATH%.

I tried loading a moz icon from nvu into a GdkPixbuf, and setting a
GtkImage with that. This shouldn't touch GtkExtra...
$px = GdkPixbuf::new_from_file('default.xpm');
$win->add($img = new GtkImage());
$img->set_from_pixbuf($px);
Running the test script through the gnope install rendered the icon OK.
The beta install turned up the following error instead:
Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PhpGtkGErrorException' with message
'Failed to load image 'default.xpm': Invalid XBM file'
Note the error message says 'Invalid XBM file', which is correct because
the icon is an *XPM* file. :-) I wonder if GdkPixbuf is mistakenly trying
to load the XPM image with the XBM loader?

Missed that one... :-(

Tried the following:
exec("start D:\\phpgtk2b\\gconfd-2.exe");
$win->add($foo = new GtkHTML());
...and several variants including popen().
No Luck:
GConf Error: Failed to launch configuration server: Failed to execute
helper program (No such file or directory)
(php.exe:1268): Gdk-WARNING **: gdkselection-win32.c:1068: OpenClipboard
failed: Invalid window handle.
gconfd does run, sits there for a while then exits. Immediately after, I
get a Windoze error dialog, on dismissal php exits with return value 3.
I put the path to the install dir in my %PATH% just in case, but still no
luck.
